Pros and cons

     
     Schools should encourage girls to study science and engineering more.


     On the one hand it seems look like a good idea. Girls will be as successful as boys in their future life. In the industrial market the competition will grow so world will be a bit more democratic. But on the other hand we understand that science and engineering more approaches for men. It is  a kind of their path. In addition to this I just cannot understand how schools can encourage girls. This should be only their decision. No one should try to force them.


      So finally I think that the best idea is to show them that they have this possibility, to be an engineer or scientist. But they should see all other ways too.

Letter of acception of a room

Dear Mr Harper,

I am writing about your message about the room. It was very kind of you to call me. I really appreciate that.

By the way, you wanted to get some information about me. Here it is. I am 19 years old and I live in Estonia. I am very hardworking and responsible. So you do not worry about the payments for the room. However I would like to know what facilities are available? And is there Internet access? Secondly, that would be great if you tell me about the working place, is there desk for computer or not?

In ten-year time

I don't really know what will world look like in ten-year time. But I believe that nothing awful won't happen.

What I know exactly is that by the time I am 27 I will have graduated university with good marks. I will have met lots of interesting people. I will have traveled around the world. I will have spoken at least 5 languages fluently. Of course I do not know who I will be, hopefully a successful businessman. In addition to that, I hope, just hope that I will meet a good young women. And tonnes of other things which are not so interesting to read for you.

My name is Igor Konstantinov. I would like to apply for the position of hotel receptionist which I saw advertised in a student newspaper. One of my reasons for applying is useful experience.

I am 18 years old and I live in Estonia.I have never done this kind of work before but my knowledge of the area is good enough. I am studying at uni right now and I can speak English pretty well. Also I have several skills which can be useful. First of all, I am great with computers. Secondly, I am very sociable. In addition to this for the last three years I have been working during summer on works where communication is a necessity. I think I would be a suitable candidate.

Estonian education

What can I say about our education? It is not bad at all.

Today's education in Estonia is divided into vocational, general and hobby education. The education system is based on four levels which include the pre-school, basic, secondary and higher education. So we are used to it and do not have any choice to choose from.

Generally, almost everywhere in Estonian schools widely-spread subject-centered curriculum. And only in English college there is student-centered curriculum which I really like. Pupil can choose 6 subjects, what they are interested in. And they will learn 3 of them in advanced level. My personal opinion is that this programme should be used in all schools.

About academic higher education in Estonia I can't say anything cause I wasn't interested in it.

Letter of advise(opinion about restaurant)

Dear Sarah,

I have received your letter and it will not be a problem for me to help you to decide would the Vincenzo's restaurant be suitable for your wedding dinner or not.

I suppose you have already read their advertisement. Firstly instead of romantic strains of live Italian music you will hear loud recorded rock. Secondly the light of "dozen scented candles" is so weak that I could not see the food on my plate. Also they wrote that because of their chef Roberto the restaurant managed to attract clients. But I have never heard about this chef as well as there were no other customers in Vincenzo. One time I tried to call them but the line was constantly busy.
